The Story
From watchmaking to web platforms
The name “Escapement” comes from watchmaking — it's the mechanism that controls precision. Every tick, every movement, engineered with intention. That's the approach I bring to building software.
I'm Jonathan, a full-stack developer based in Georgia. I build custom websites and operations platforms for small businesses that have outgrown their templates, their spreadsheets, or their patience with agencies that overpromise and underdeliver.
Before Escapement, I watched too many small business owners get burned: paying $50K to an agency for something a WordPress plugin could have handled, or paying $200/month for a Wix site that couldn't do basic booking. There's a gap between “cheap template” and “expensive agency,” and that's exactly where I work.

Craftsmanship over speed
I don't rush projects to hit arbitrary deadlines. Every feature is built right the first time — tested, documented, and production-ready. That said, I ship faster than most agencies because there's no bureaucracy.
Precision over features
I'd rather build five features that work perfectly than fifteen that mostly work. We scope aggressively during discovery so you're not paying for things you don't need.
Ownership over rental
You own your code, your data, your domain, and your hosting account. If you ever want to part ways, you walk away with everything. No lock-in, no proprietary CMS, no hostage negotiations.
